Awesome suppressor! Runs great on a SCAR 20S. This rifle has a KNS Precision adjustable gas block, and it’s only 4 clicks difference from suppressed to unsuppressed (out of 14). There doesn’t seem to be a lot of back pressure with this one. Picked up about 25 FPS at the muzzle with M118, probably because of the length of it. I did see a POI shift @ 100 yards .4 mil low, .4 mil left. Somewhat rifle-specific, it did see a .25″ moa improvement in the grouping with this as opposed to unsuppressed with the surefire brake. The fit and finish is perfect as expected from Surefire. Highly recommended for a gas gun setup. Have no complaints.

I love the surefire line so I had to get a .30 cal RC2, was really curious as to how it was going to sound and on a 20” .308 bolt gun with a 3 prong flash hider it sounds amazing, in the open shooting it is comfortable without ear plugs, get around trees or structures and it will echo a bit and may ever so slightly seem uncomfortable but I have no problem shooting this can without hearing protection, haven’t shot it on a gas gun so can’t say how it sounds but on a bolt gun it’s really good!

As this is only my second suppressor, I don’t think I’m qualified to be writing reviews. What I can say is, it clearly is a quality item. I’m using it on a 300BO. And no, it is not James Bond quiet. But I knew it wasn’t going to be. I do think it is hearing safe. But I don’t own a decibel meter, and I’m not your audiologist. But Splinter Cell it ain’t. I suspect this is a case of “No free lunch” because the back pressure is very mild. I’m not your physicist either, but I’d suspect that more quiet means more back pressure. At any rate, it does what I need it to. Which is if Bad happens and I have to fire rounds in my home, I at least have a chance of hearing after. And yes Silencer Shop was great.

If you understand what this is and what you’re buying you’ll love it. It’s not perfect at any one category of suppressor attributes but it is an all around great suppressor. I will use this on most of my rifles but I think it looks great on my M4 A1 block 2 clone.

Build Quality and Durability
The RC2 is, quite simply, built like a tank. It’s engineered for hard use in both military and civilian applications, and over the course of my testing, it’s held up without a single structural or functional issue. Whether it’s sustained full-auto fire or slow precision shots, the can maintains integrity, accuracy, and function.
After a thorough post-5k cleaning, the suppressor runs like new—no rattles, no warping, and no erosion in the blast baffle or bore. That speaks volumes about Surefire’s attention to metallurgy, heat tolerance, and long-term wear resistance.

Attachment System
Let’s be clear: Fast-Attach does not mean Fast-Detach. Surefire’s proprietary system is the most secure mounting system I’ve used. Once locked in, there is zero shift—no wobble, no point-of-impact change, and absolutely no concern it will come loose under stress.
However, after about 1,000 rounds, carbon buildup can make removal a chore. That’s not a flaw—it’s the tradeoff for the rock-solid lock-up. A light application of CLP around the mount (I personally use Clenzoil Carbon Cleaner – $8 well spent) helps tremendously. A T7 Torx bit (not included) is all that’s needed for disassembly and maintenance, which is a thoughtful touch in an otherwise very tight system.

Sound Suppression Performance
This is where the RC2 truly shines. On subs in .300 BLK, it’s “movie quiet”—easily hearing-safe and exceptionally well-balanced in tone. Even on full power 7.62 NATO from the AR-10 and bolt gun, the signature is greatly reduced with minimal blowback.
The suppressor handles back pressure better than many others in its class, and the internal geometry does a great job of taming flash and report without adding excessive gas to the face. In confined environments (vehicle interiors, CQB settings), it makes a night-and-day difference in shooter comfort and communication.
The Surefire SOCOM 762-RC2 is one of the most battle-proven, high-performance suppressors on the market. It’s not cheap, but if you’re looking for reliability, minimal shift, ease of use, and durability across platforms, it’s an unmatched tool in any serious shooter’s kit. After 5,000 rounds, I can safely say it’s a suppressor built for war, but refined enough for the range.

Yes, Surefire is worth it. I’ll start off with I am a professional fire arms instructor. I am around every ‘quiet’, light weight, flash hiding, easy attach, etc, silencer on the market. Iv seen performance of all of them in very heavy courses of fire. The Surefire RC is with out a doubt the best or at least top 3 of the best duty cans Iv used and seen. The quick attach allows me to run my 762 on everything. And there is never point of aim shift. Even on my M40a3 clone build, it’s crazy precise.

Pretty much what I expected from Surefire, it’s not the quietest can out there, and it isn’t designed to be, but it makes up for that with durability and reliability. Heat builds up fairly quick, but POI shift is minimal (around an inch). The quick attach system works flawlessly with Surefire muzzle devices, which is a big plus.
I’ve run it on both 6.5 Creedmoor and 5.56 platforms, and suppression is solid on each. Blowback is minimal for a non flow through design, and overall performance has been very consistent. About 300 rounds in so far with zero complaints.
If you’re after a rugged, battle proven suppressor with reliable mounting, this one fits the bill.
