With a full line of 5.56mm rifle suppressors on the market, Griffin Armament brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this category. The Griffin Armament Recce 5 model continues to claim industry-wide respect that the team has grown to appreciate and relish. To that end, this all-steel can delivers impressive sound reduction (35 dB) at a very reasonable price point.
Wisconsin-based Griffin Armament provides a bevy of suppressors to firearm fanatics. To preserve the hearing of shooters, the two military brothers founded this manufacturer to harness their backgrounds to bring affordable, high-performing silencers to the public. The Recce 5 unit is no exception to these coveted rules.
Further Intel:
Much like its brethren—the Griffin Armament M4SD-II—the Recce 5 silencer offers increased suppression while attaining full-auto rated status. Employing a precision Taper Mount EZ-Brake, which is included with the purchase of the suppressor, this can only adds 3.8” to the host firearm if using a full-size muzzle device and 4.9″ if using the EZ-BRAKE. It also employs Griffin’s Patented ECO-FLOW™ baffle technology. Furthermore, the Recce 5 provides minimal point-of-impact (POI) shift without adding much extra weight and length. And if durability is what you seek, look no further… You found it.

This works great with my 22nosler!

In love with this my first suppressor. Dedicated 5.56 can exceeded my expectations by far. Excellent sound reduction, bombproof but not super heavy and a good value for what you get. I would recommend this can to anyone looking for a dedicated 556 any day of the week and twice on sunday.

This is my first suppressor. It seems to be very well made and is very quiet

I don’t know, it’s been over a year since my stamp was cashed and I still haven’t received my stamp or suppressor.

This is my first can. The Recce 5 Mod 4 exceeded my expectations. For the price, you can’t beat the performance and sound reduction.

Great quality and price. Love that it come with the taper mount.

Reduces noise significantly. I have matching muzzle brakes on my two AR’s, so I can easily switch.

I just picked up my Recce 5 yesterday and will take it to the range this weekend. The taper mount interface is awesome and lockup is great. I’ve met the people at Griffin and they are fantastic. Everything about the suppressor, looks and quality of workmanship is exactly what you would expect. My first time using eforms for a form 4 and my personal wait time was roughly four months from stamp cashing. Still longer than I’d like, but I have a paper form 4 that is still pending for over a year now. SilencerShop’s process is simple and easy and I’d recommend them to anyone.

I guess owning 10 different cans Im a little jaded. The Recce 5 is cheap. Great, the Recce 5 does a ok job at suppression. But my issue started with the company itself. They offered a discount, then wouldn’t reply to emails until the time was up so I lost on that. Instead of apologizing I got a snotty email back. Then add in that the mount that comes with the suppressor is worthless. It basically locked on after 5 rounds and without flats there is no way its ever coming off the suppressor except maybe vice grips. So now the design flaws makes it so its basically a direct thread can. So be it. The finish on it is extremely thin as well so it scratches pretty much with your thumbnail. Since tax stamps are for life I will roll with what I have and live with it. Time will tell how it holds up. I was worried about all the internet talk of welds failing but we shall see. In the end I wish I would have just stuck with more reputable companies that Ive already dealt with.

This was my first suppressor. I had shot some others previously. I was impressed with the fit and finish, but most importantly it is quiet. Definitley worth the money.

I picked up my suppressor a few days ago. I have not shot it yet, however, my son and daughter-in-law both have the Recce 5. I have shot theirs numerous times. That is why I chose the Recce 5. It is a very good suppressor. I appreciate all the Silencer Shop did to make my purchase happen.

Great can for the money. Fairly lightweight, easily repairable by the manufacturer, sounds great.

From watching many reviewers test the Recce 5, I knew I wanted one for a dedicated 5.56 suppressor. With the quick turn around time I had my Recce 5 within days of placing the order. From adding it to cart to getting the tracking number to tge final cert process, Silencer Shop has streamlined online NFA purchases down to a science.
Installing taper mount muzzle device is extremely easy and didn’t require shims and thread sealants to secure. The day I had my Recce 5 in hand I installed the muzzle device and hit the range later that morning.
Very impressed with the noise reduction, it’s not over advertised and the -db from standard NATO pressure rounds was very pleasant to shoot. Overall I put 400 rounds through the can and the Griffin Armament Recce 5 can came off smoothly without fear of carbon lock. 10 for 10 on this can!

I was not told I was buying a used or demo suppressor. The damage to the front end of the suppressor could only have occurred by being used and most likely dropped while attached to a rifle. I say this for a few reasons. I reached out to Griffin Armament. They claim the suppressor is triple checked prior to leaving the factory and was pristine. The gouges are very deep. There had to be weight behind the suppressor when it was dropped. The finish is chipped and not scratched. It takes force to actually chip Cerakote. There was no damage to the box. So it was not done in transit. Griffin is adamant it happened after it left the factory. That leaves pretty much conclusion. It was used and dropped. Unfortunately this is the third time Silencer Shop has disappointed me. I will not buy from them again.

3 years later nothing from the dealer, nothing from the store, nothing from the atf. I’m not entirely sure this isn’t a scam.

I own 3 other Griffin suppressors. I had been using my 30 cal can on the 223 bolt gun. I did notice a difference in noise suppression. I am glad I purchased it and we are Blessed to have Silencer Shop to help with all the paperwork!
