What I’ve been looking for with the help of Silencer shop. Just going over the paperwork of the silencer till I take it to the range, can’t wait. I give them a ” 10 “
Ernest Atwood –
One of the best looking suppressors out there and performance is top notch.
JORDAN PIERSON –
Excellent suppressor. The ability to take apart each individual baffle for cleaning is great. The suppression is top notch. I am very happy with this purchase.
Matthew O –
Was approved in about 10 days, couldn’t be happier! The Obsidian 9 is easy to maintain, quiet, and not too heavy even in full config for anything you host it on.
Stephen Carter –
This product is well built and seems that it will last a lifetime. Very well thought out design and features.
Bryan C –
Fantastic suppressor and working with silencer shop and Stayton Ace Hardware was super easy and approval was way faster than I expected.
Jason –
Machining and finish are very good
Joseph B –
One of if not the Best suppressors I’ve purchased, ease of use as well as overall functioning are top tier. It really sets the standard. On top of all that, it looks cool doing it
Doctor –
Great product and costs that are unbelievable.
Jordan Wallace –
This is my first suppressor and so far I am impressed, I have ran it on two different platforms so far with zero issues.
Patrick Henson –
I super happy with my new suppressor. I really like the ability to have 2 length options. The process of getting the stamp was slow, thank you ATF & FBI/NICS, but I got it completed at Shot Show 2025 after having direct conversations with both agencies.
As far as the suppressor goes I can’t wait to shoot it more & do some sound level testing.

Rugged obsidian 9 Dedicated CZ SP01 UG SR. AMAZING BEAUTIFUL PISTOL CAN. Bedside she will be.
Michael Fontaine –
Happy with buy.
Me –
A great suppressor for 9mm – .300 blkout. Comes with a 1/2×24 direct mount which is good for your 9mm applications but getting a 5/8×24 direct mount is extremely difficult to acquire at this time so I’m unable to mount to my .300 blkout. Hopefully the wait to purchase this mount won’t be too long in arriving.

I purchased the Rugged Obsidian 9 mainly for my CZ P 10 C pistol. I paired it with a threaded barrel from True Precision. Shoots well and balances the pistol nicely. I highly recommend getting the Rugged tool from Warren Technologies (SuppressorTools.com). It SHOULD come with the fixed barrel sleeve, but I picked that up also as well as a 5/8-24 to 1/2-28 adapter. Lastly, an inexpensive pistol case from Amazon keeps it all in one place when not on the pistol. High-quality suppressor. No regrets with the materials and the performance.
Michael R –
I’ve ran this can about 2000 rounds so far and it’s been great. Although I don’t use the feature much, I do think it’s cool that it is modular. Definitely recommend.
Joseph P –
Hush 9′ s work the best.
Charles V –
This Silencer is top notch. The sound is phenomenal. I shot supers and subs and it was quiet. With subs the slide action was way louder than the shot. I literally started laughing it was so quiet. My stock Glock cycled perfectly with sub ammo. No special springs or anything. I need suppressor sight heights is the only mod I am going to make. Worth It!
Edwin Robinson –
I appreciate the guys for their help and info. I will be back.
James B –
It seem to be pretty good so far. Very quiet with subsonics
C. Carlo Fazioli –
This is a PERFECT entry-level suppressor! I chose it for a 300BLK AR pistol build (and it required an aftermarket thread adapter). The employee at my LGS explained that the Obsidian 9 can also be used for 9mm, meaning I can put it on my Glock 17 or 43x (with a threaded barrel). In addition to supporting these two calibers, the Obsidian 9 is comprised of two pieces that basically divide the length/weight of the suppressor in half (presumably at the expense of some of the suppression, but I haven’t done any dB testing). As a first-time suppressor buyer, the flexibility and modularity of the Obsidian 9 make it a no-brainer. I assume seasoned collectors would also enjoy having this in their kit.
Michael E –
I really like this suppressor. It is very quiet on my Beretta and my Dagger pistols in the long configuration. In the short configuration there is a definite increase in sound, but still hearing safe and a lot lighter. I hope to purchase a direct thread mount to use on my 2 PCC’s.
Steve R –
Really enjoying it. Surprised how much more stable the platform is now. The reduced muzzle rise and focused gasses have made it faster to get back on target for follow up shots.
Tristen Butts –
One of the best for 9mm. I got this and fitted it with the tri lug adapter for my SP5. Phenomenal.
Wesley F –
It’s an awesome suppressor. I really like the modularity of it. No buyer’s remorse what so ever. Will be getting a few more Rugged suppressor soon.
Mark D –
Great suppressor easy to break down.
Jesse G. –
one of the best modular silencers i’ve had. Even on a short configuration on my CZ Scorpion it is pretty quiet. No point of impact shifts and very goo dquality. FunGuns is a very good dealer with helpful and very knowledgeable staff. They help make the purchase a breeze.
Wesley A –
Great can for the value. Always puts a smile on those who shoot it.
Nicholas M –
It’s pretty quiet definitely full-auto rated
Michael Richardson –
The Rugged Obsidian had to be one of the quickest most durable suppressors I have. It fits on everything.
Anthony S –
Great can ! Took a few mags to break in and awesome on a Glock 19!!Thanks to Glenn at SilencerShop!!
Thaine Creitz –
Rugged is a quality suppressor supplier. The obsidian series is well built and works well. Direct thread mount (for Carbines) as well as a Rugged Universal mount system for adapters and pistol pistons provide great flexibility. The two piece design enables you to tune the suppression to fit your needs. I purchased the Obsidian 45 first for supporting all my calibers, then ordered the Obsidian 9 for my 9mm carbines and pistols for a little better suppression.
James T –
Absolutely awesome.
You cant believe the difference until you try it.
JON S –
So far so good, can and packaging A+. Couple mags of 147gr through a PCC and it’s about what should be expected. Not movie but not drum busting. Modularity is nice but running with 3 lug and short configuration for now.
Emil D –
The process went smoothly after I was able to get the correct registration process going. The suppressor works well on the Glock 19 I also purchased the tri-lug mount and intend to use it also on the AP-5 SBR

I was originally looking at another suppressor. Upon further investigation, it had some things that I didn’t like. This was when I was introduced to the Obsidian 9. I did a lot of research into it and ended up buying it. The actual process took about 2 weeks (nice. Especially considering my previous suppressor took 11 months). When I first got the Obsidian 9, I had a little trouble taking it apart. I called Rugged for suggestions. They were very nice but just couldn’t help over the phone. I took it up to Magnum Shooting Center in Colorado Springs (where I bought it). I took it to their suppressor Guru (Kaiden Kimball) who showed me what I was doing wrong (it was a me problem). I used White Lithium Grease on it when I put it back together. I took it out and put 200 rounds through it before taking it apart and cleaning it again. Without using “Subsonic” ammo, it still made a noticeable difference. I’m currently looking for “Subsonic” ammo. The clean up was very easy. I didn’t use my sonic cleaner. The baffles and other parts just wiped clean.
In short. The process to buy it was easy. Rugged was very responsive to my issues. The store and the staff where I bought it was amazing. The Rugged Obsidian 9 was exactly what I was looking for. I will keep all this in mind when I start looking for my next suppressor for my AR 15.

Review: Rugged Obsidian 9 with Adapt Suppressor
Finally had the chance to take the Rugged Obsidian 9 with the Adapt configuration out to the range today. I ran about 150 rounds through it, mounted on my S&W M&P FPC.
I was using 147gr subsonic ammo, and the performance was solid. The suppressor delivered a clean, satisfying tone — no mechanical issues at all. Honestly, the loudest sound was the round hitting the back of the range.
Overall, very happy with the setup. Smooth, quiet, and reliable.
Let me know if you want to make it sound more technical, casual, or detailed for a specific platform (like a forum post vs. a product review).

Product Review: Rugged Obsidian 9 Suppressor (Adapt Configuration)
I recently had the opportunity to test the Rugged Obsidian 9 in its Adapt configuration and was thoroughly impressed with its performance. I paired the suppressor with a Smith & Wesson M&P FPC and fired approximately 150 rounds using 147-grain subsonic ammunition.
The suppressor functioned flawlessly throughout the session. Sound suppression was excellent, delivering a deep, clean tone with minimal blowback. The loudest element was not the report itself, but the impact of the round on the backstop — a testament to the suppressor’s effectiveness.
Fit and finish were exceptional, installation was straightforward, and the unit remained securely in place throughout the session. Overall, the Obsidian 9 delivered reliable, quiet performance and exceeded expectations in both build quality and function.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a versatile and effective 9mm suppressor solution.

Extremely impressed with the sound suppression at full length makes my other 9 mm cans just about obsolete wish there was a few better made videos of how to disassemble and reassemble the can. The only problem I found is trying to find a fixed spacer to go in the booster, nobody seems to have them in stock.
Louis M –
Not nearly as quiet as one would expect. Its about as loud as an m98 firework. One or two shots are ok without ear protection. If you are going to put 100+ rounds down range with 147 grain then you will still need protection. Has a slight wobble on my spc9 but not on the glock. No baffle yet but I’m kind of expecting one.
Justin W –
Great little suppressor! Paperwork and ATF wait times were FAST on the tax stamp. The suppressor itself is well-built, quiet, and light
Looking forward to trying it with 147gr to see how quiet it’ll get. Did require a few mags to break in before my Glock would cycle properly.
Robert A –
Absolutely awesome can. Real fast NFA approval. 3 day tax stamp..
Ethan K –
This is my first can, and let me tell you, what a great first one to buy. Super light, versatile, and sounds awesome. I threw it on my full-size M&P, and it makes it nice and heavy. NFA approval was a mere 5 days and I had it in hand within the day. Will be back at my local FFL dealer, and will be buying more from Rugged.
Aaron L –
First time buying a suppressor and I got to say, it was a process but made very easy by the store keepers and the website! The suppressor itself is very nice, quite hefty and works very well for its intended purpose. I ran it with subsonic 9mm ammo in my pistol and it sounded amazing. I’m more of a hobbyist personally but this thing is heavy duty and more than enough for any of your needs! Good luck if you’re buying one and enjoy!
Reginald S –
This is my first suppressor and it will not be my last! Thank you for making it so easy for me!
Kelly –
Mounted on Glock 43X, I first tried it with the short can, it didn’t work well at all, I don’t recommend it. I thought I wasted my money but I decided to give it a second chance and tried it with the extra piece and it worked great.
Brennan M –
Beautiful piece of engineering- like a ruler slap on the table.
JIM H –
Contacted silencer shop about the Huxwrk Flow 9 TI for my Glock 43 x and was told that the Rugged Obsidian 9 would be a better choice for my application. I did some research on the Obsidian 9 and decided to take the recommendation and make the purchase. Silencer shop from 4 process through the kiosk was great as usual being my third purchase through silencer shop using the kiosk. The ATF approval process…. Well I guess 36 days was better than 13 months but still wish it would have been faster or non ATF at all. Shooting the Obsidian 9 was very nice. Very quiet. The most sound came from the slide of the action. Very satisfied with my purchase.
Steamer Z –
The suppressor is awesome. I put it on my Canik mete SFT. It is like a whisper. No ears needed even though you should wear protection. I have a hand held device to measure decibels and after 5 rounds fired right next to the device it measured at 101.4 at about 10 ft away it measured at 97.7Can’t wait to try it on my 300 blk.
Jose G –
Best bang (or shush bang) for your buck!
Scott S –
Super happy with my rugged obsidian 9 suppressor. Waiting on an adapter so I can put it on my pcc’s. Used it on my Franklin armory Glock clone, so quiet it’s amazing! Can’t believe how quiet it is… highly recommended. Next, I’m gonna get a rugged suppressor for my AR’s
Edward –
Product is great. Easy to clean so construction so far it’s been a great product..
Ross K –
So impressed with this suppressor! I bought a dead air Mojave (which is amazing) for twice the price and it stands side by side in performance. Excellent quality, style, and sound reduction. HIGHLY recommend!
Terry Whitaker –
I am using this on a Beretta 92XI and a 92FS with the Griffin Cam-lok mounting system. Works great! Very quiet with Fiocchi 158 grain ammo.
Bradley G –
Took the Obsidian9 out of for a test drive last weekend. Put it on my S&W Response and shot a couple hundred rounds through it. It looks, sounds, and works great! I love it! Definitely recommend this for a 9mm.
Jason Phillips –
Great can, love the modularity. Excellent sound dampening and very high quality. Direct thread and piston included, you can’t go wrong with this.
Johnathon S –
The Rugged Obsidian is an amazing suppressor. Ive used it on multiple firearms and it performs flawlessly.
Kevin N –
Love it, bought for my vp9 tactical, which meant buying a different piston, but also works great for my .22lr
Martin S –
excelentes
JON R –
This is my first suppressor, so I did not really know what to expect, but I did think it would be quieter. It knocked a 9mm pistol down to 110db, sounded about like a 22 now. But still has a crack when the round is fired. Quality and fit is great.
Edmund K –
The quality of this unit is excellent. It produces a dramatic reduction in blast sound when used in the full configuration. The length and weight of course significantly change the balance of the pistol and this takes a bit of getting used to. For me it works best for slow fire. I’m very pleased with it.

Excellent app and kiosk for submission of the necessary forms along with emails indicating the progress of your application.
