This is an interesting suppressor. Very hard to find in stock right now since it was released. But after shooting with it for a while I 100% like the Sandman S so much better! It is pretty loud if you were looking for a quiet suppressor then the sandman series would be better for you. It does seem very rugged and is decently light for its size. But overall I rate it a 3.5. The price point is good compared to others but my honest opinion is to save a little more and buy the Sandman Series.
I really like DeadAir as a company and they have earned repeat business from me based on their customer service and build quality. I hope this helps someone on the fence. All NFA items are time and money investments but very worth it in the end!

It would be premature for me to give this item a 5 star rating when this is my first purchase and I do not own another one to compare it to. I have only shot with a suppressor one time prior to this one and it belonged to someone else and was quiet with every shot and without a muzzle flash. With this suppressor, which you will see in each video, the first shot is much louder than the following shots and a muzzle flash is seen, I was under the impression the reason for purchasing this item was to eliminate muzzle flash as well as to reduce the sound of EVERY shot! This is another reason I could not give this item a 5 star rating. Is this suppressor malfunctioning or is this how it is supposed to function?

So far so good. This is only my second suppressor so I’m not quite an expert yet but I can easily shoot .556 without hearing protection, which was the intention. So much more pleasant and I look cool doing it! It’s lighter than I thought it would be and fairly compact compared to my hybrid 46. Looks absolutely sexy when installed. Watchdog tactical and silencershop were flawless throughout the process. Will definitely be purchasing another one…few.

So far so good ! The Sierra 5 comes with a muzzle included so you don’t have to dish out extra for a separate muzzle device. Approximately 150 rounds in and no issues, with anything you just have to make sure everything is installed and tightened properly. (Lots of support video from the site and YouTube) This suppressor is light and short, good sound suppression and handles heat well. When shooting in a group I saw older suppressors smoking from heat while the Sierra 5 seemed to maintain a constant temperature. The flash hider also does a good job, in video little flash is seen and under low light no distractions at the end that would hinder fast secondary/succession shots.
Liking this Sierra 5 so far.

This is my second Dead Air Suppressor, and both have exceeded my expectations. With the Keymod flash hider, installation of the suppressor is a couple turns of the wrist and it is on the rifle securely. The noise suppression is better than I expected. Shooting indoors is no longer the assault on my ears that it used to be.

Im writing this review before I have ever fired a single shot through the new suppressor. Overall my research on this suppressor is positive and I had it professionally installed. I will update this review once I get a few shots down range. Just FYI. If you own a Sig AR style rifle, insulation of the quick detachable muzzle device will require specific spacers and possibly need to send the barrel back to Sig for removal of the original muzzle device.

I use keymo on most of my stuff and really wanted to try a dead air. It’s not a bad can, but for the money my lahar 30 is a quieter can on 556 and much cheaper . Personally there are much better cans for the money. Again not a bad can , just not a great can either . Personally if your set on dead air get a sandman x or Lazarus and skip the Sierra
