The Griffin Bushwhacker 46 (Gen 2) is a large bore multi caliber suppressor with a user-serviceable end cap and versatile mounting options. This second-gen Griffin Armament Bushwhacker is 7.75 inches long and weighs in at 15.8 ounces in its Taper Mount configuration (PLAN-A™ Included). In its pistol configuration, this Griffin Armament suppressor only weighs 17.6 ounces (Universal Piston not included).
What’s the difference between generation one and generation two of the Griffin Bushwhacker 46? We’re so glad you asked! The gen 2 edition features Griffin’s patent pending ECO-FLOW baffle technology that greatly reduces back pressure while still maintaining greater structural strength, higher heat resistance for durability, as well as longer service life. It also features what Griffin Armament reports to be a 5-7db sound pressure level drop versus the original version!
This multi caliber suppressor features a large bore diameter to provide the most caliber flexibility possible, while also retaining impressive noise reduction. .450 Bushmaster, .458 SOCOM, .45-70 Govt, and other large bore calibers are at home on the Griffin Bushwhacker 46. With interchangeable end cap options (not included), lesser rounds like .308 Win, .300 BLK, and 6.5 Creedmoor can be further optimized for sound performance. The Bushwhacker is a great can! I’ve used it on .2lr, 5.56, .300 AAC, 9mm & .45 ACP and it has worked flawlessly. My only concern is the cost. Although the cost is comparable to other manufacturers, it’s hard to imagine a tube with baffles and end caps costing $1,000. Also, by the time you buy muzzle devices for all your firearms, you’ll be living in a cardboard box under a bridge. Griffin is my “go-to” for all of my silencers so my criticism about cost is true of all manufacturers. Griffin is a great company that builds great products.

I love this can. I currently use it on my 556 and 308 mostly. But honestly it’ll run just about anything. Also, after 35 rounds of 223, don’t lay your arm on it. 😐

Not as suppressed as I had hoped for. Don’t have to use hearing protection but, not quiet. Need to order a 30 cal face plate to try those calibers. It works, but leaves some room for desired effect.

this was my first suppressor, and it is a good choice for someone that has many calibers but doesn’t want to spend a fortune on multiple cans, it does amazing with pistol calibers and on my 10.5″ 300 black out, on my 6 Creedmoor with a 26″ barrel it is OK, it is hearing safe and works well for an overbore suppressor but this is more suited for sub sonic rounds with the radial baffle design and if it is primarily going to be used on a centerfire rifle there are better options like a deadair nomad or sandman s. but overall I happy with the purchase will continue to use griffin products for a long time as the workmanship is on point !

I purchased the Griffin Bushwhacker for several uses so far I have used it on both of my AR45 Pistols, and have just completed my 450 bushmaster build and will hopefully be able to take it and sight it in with the Bushwhacker. The construction is great and use of the Taper Mount system makes for a good solid lock up when attaching the can to the firearm. I also plan to use this Suppressor on my next build of 458 socom. Will Definitely be considering another Bushwhacker or 2 to add as permeant hosts to some of the guns.

This is my second Bushwhacker-46, and I plan to get a couple 36’s as soon as I can. They are bulky, but the utility is amazing! When I got this as my first silencer it worked with all 9 calibers of pistol and rifles that I own. It works amazing with .45ACP! Because of the modularity, pieces can be easily replaced. We had a .22 end cap on and accidentally fired 9mm through it, which blew apart the end cap obviously, but we just bought a new end cap and good as new(with lessons learned haha). Would highly recommend, especially if you only plan to get one silencer!

This is my first silencer of such a large caliber and so far it had performed flawlessly. Used it on 9mm, 300 BLK, 223, and 45-70. Every round that was subsonic went out as quiet as you can imagine. Supersonics were suppressed enough that it made a very nice and comfortable shooting experience. Overall very happy with this purchase. Subsonic 45-70 with this silencer made my jaw drop 🙂

This is #12…purpose was to have a little smaller can that I could pop on and off two 6.5 rifles. Nothing bad to say and it works well. I have others that lower the dbs more but all in all, a great can.

Amazing can! A little spendy but all suppressors are…. But for what you get with it, it is still better than any other suppressor like it! It is on the heavier side but for being 7 inches long it will be. I think griffin could use some titanium in there and still keep the price of the can where it’s at. Still, I am very happy with my purchase and it is my favorite can!

Probably one of the best starter suppressors on the market. Even with the .46 cal end cap it was mostly hearing safe for .308 out of an AR-10, definitely hearing safe on 5.56 out of an AR-15, and downright quiet on .45 out of an FN. It’s a bit heavy for the FN, but that serves to help mitigate recoil. Using the universal piston housing and a Cam Lok piston, it functions flawlessly on the FN and is ridiculously easy and fast to attach/detach. I did buy a Plan A XL mount for my rifles to use the flashcomp offered by Griffin, but using the minimalist one it comes with was solid and quiet as well.

The quality of the suppressor is great. For an all-in-one suppressor it works really well, but a dedicated suppressor for each caliber would have better performance (however really expensive). Since I own multiple firearms ranging from 17hmr through 450 bushmaster, this universal setup makes sense. The downside is all of the quick attachments for the different rifles and to improve the sound suppression on the smaller calibers the different end caps (price adds up quickly).
On 22lr subsonic with a 22 cal end cap it is super quiet and all you hear is the firing pin snap, 17hmr sounds about like a 22lr supersonic, 6.5 PRC on precision rifle is hearing safe for the shooter for a couple rounds but would recommend the use of hearing protection if shooting a bunch, and the 450 bushmaster is quiet enough for a shot or two while hunting but still fairly loud. They all are way quieter with the suppressor vs. muzzle brakes and make shooting a lot more enjoyable.

This is my first suppressor and so far, I’m happy with it. I’ve only fired a few 9mm (non-subsonic) and a few .300 Blackout (mix of sub- and non-subsonic) rounds through it. The .300BLK subs were ear safe and fun to shoot. Going to load up a bunch more!
