PTR Vent 2 Titanium 9mm Suppressor
Vent 2 pairs a 3D printed titanium, monolithic core with PTR’s patented PIP metal foam for strong sound reduction and controlled gas. It uses the Alpha 1.125×28 rear and ships with a 1/2×28 direct thread adapter, so it is ready for common 9mm hosts and flexible for pistons or 3-lug. Specs land at 7.6 inches, 1.5 inches in diameter, and 8.9 ounces. Rated full auto for 9mm and also listed for .357 Mag/.38 Spl with no barrel restriction, plus 300 BLK subsonic on 8 inch or longer barrels. A durable PVD-type exterior helps with heat and fouling control. If you are running an MP5 or PCC, add an Alpha 3-lug mount for fast swaps. If you are shooting a tilting-barrel pistol, add an Alpha piston/Nielsen device for reliable cycling.

This is my first NFA item so I can’t draw comparisons to any other 9mm silencer. You need to know going into the Vent 2 that this is an item that requires regular cleaning. The sound performance is spectacular, the low back pressure is pretty good, and I am very happy with the overall weight of this unit. Time will tell about longevity. If sound performance and weight are your top priority you would be well served with this suppressor. PTR should eliminate the plastic case (which is very nice) and cut the price accordingly.

I own both the Rugged Obsidian 9 and the Dead Air Wolfman, and despite being much smaller than the Wolfman, the PTR Vent 2 is markedly quieter than both, on all my firearms. No port “pop” and no gas, the PIP technology is no gimmick. This can is very light, but feels sturdy and robust. If I didn’t already own 3 7.62 suppressors, I would immediately buy the Vent 1. I might do it anyway. Yes, they’re a bit pricey but you get your money’s worth in performance. It IS that good.
