Its matte black finish offers a sleek barrel for TacSol X-RING receivers and Ruger 10/22 style receivers, all while weighing in under 17 ounces for the overall bore length of 16.75 inches. Cleaning the X-RING Takedown TSS barrel is a cinch due to its user serviceability from the front (easy access from the front means no needing to take the barrel off of the receiver every time you want to clean it!). Additionally, the Ti baffles are slotted together and nestled in a Ti-sleeve, making removal from the barrel shroud quick and easy, coming out in a piece. As you may know, TacSol’s TSS baffles are direct decedents of the time tested and much-loved Tactical Solutions Axiom silencer, which are the same baffles that have been graced in the X-RING Takedown TSS barrel. This integral is truly more to love with way less hassle.

First one was defective out of the box. The breech was not drilled out to size and there were metal shavings inside the barrel. Would not chamber a round. Sent back to Tactical Solutions. They fixed it right up and sent it back to me in about a week. Sound reduction is not as good as you would expect unless you use subsonic ammo then its pellet gun quiet. I prefer the Mark IV pistol version as since the barrel is shorter, the round does not get to full velocity and therefore its quiet on standard 22lr.

I have nothing but good things to say about this barrel. I paired it with a Magpul X-22 Backpacker stock and a factory receiver and everything fits together perfectly. It is accurate and feels like it is very high quality.
If you use subsonic ammo it is staple gun quiet, I’ve had good luck with CCI Quiet 22s cycling the action properly while all but eliminating noise. The bullet hitting the target is often the loudest sound of the whole operation. Naturally, higher powered stuff will make some more sound, but not enough that you ever need hearing protection.
The first time I disassembled the suppressor for cleaning (after about 100 rounds) it was a bit hard to get apart, there was a lot of residue sticking everything together. After that experience I now give all the parts a good spray of CLP before reassembly and it comes apart and cleans up with minimal hassle.
Between this suppressed barrel, the tax stamp, the stock, the trigger, the bolt, the optic, and all the little upgrades I may have the most expensive 10/22 in the state. I don’t care – it is one of my favorite rifles and a ton of quiet fun.

My review will be about initial impressions only. I have only used the barrel for 50 rounds to zero and check for malfunctions.
Everything was easy to install, the barrel looks great, and had it mounted in less than 10 minutes. So far it is super quiet. The action makes more noise than barrel so I would call it whisper quiet. Breaking it down is easy since it is mounted to the Magpul backpacker 10/22 stock. I hope it has some longevity because is looks like it is going to be a great rifle.

I already loved my 10/22 takedown, but putting this barrel on it has made it my favorite gun. The baffles come out and can be separated easily, works with all of the X-22 accessories from Magpul, and is just as accurate as the OEM stainless barrel. It only gets better with a binary trigger and a bolt buffer to prevent metal on metal contact when cycling.

Haven’t shot it yet. Four stars based on the fit and finish of the product, product documentation and ease of disassembly. Returned a similar product from another manufacturer because it did not measure up in any of the above-listed attributes.
