It has a funky go-no collar on it. Attempting to remove it the suppressor the section attached to the barrel unscrewed itself from the rest of the body. Strange feature but it does allow for cleaning the interior?…:)

Had several option when looking for a can for my 10.5″ 5.56, the Razor was in the middle price range and has no barrel length restrictions, which convinced me to purchase it. As well as the “Easy Serviceability” and the free gift card promo on the registration page of their website. Unfortunately after picking it up I found out that the baffles are not removable for cleaning which is not going to make it easy to clean, and the link to the free gift card doesn’t work. When I contacted their customer service I was told “We have not run any promos this year” My response is “then take the damned link off of your website”. Other thing I don’t like about it is that the included endcap removal tool is plastic. That’s not going to help if the endcap comes loose at the range unless you let the can cool down for an hour. But at least the baffles won’t come flying out if the endcap falls off since they are not removable. My buddy was going to pick up a Razor 7.62 can, but after seing mine he’s going with the Silencerco can.

First thing I noticed was the fit/finish, and overall build quality on my Razor was great. The machining, the welds, the cerakote, all excellent. This is a super solid can made for hard use and it shows.
Next was the mounting system, which was a huge part of why I went with Rugged and their dual taper lock design. I wanted to avoid having adapters in the middle that introduce their own tolerance/concentricity stacking problems and that could come loose, and going direct thread wasn’t an option because I wanted a positive locking system for the same reason. The dual taper lock is awesome. The way it feels when you turn the locking collar is like a cam-over feeling, it sort of thuds into place and when it does the can is well and truly locked onto the muzzle device. There is no play, no movement, and again important to me no ratchet teeth, no springs or other small parts and nothing to wear/shift/loosen and compromise alignment or lockup. You get all this security, and because the mount is clamping on a taper both to the front and rear of the threads, it means you don’t get carbon lock like so many other QD solutions suffer from. The dual taper lock is IMO the best QD system on the market, it locks on absolutely solid when you want it to, and comes off when you want it to.
Absolute suppression is not as high as others like the RC2, Polonium or Sierra 5, but the tone is excellent, suppression is plenty good enough to take all the bite out of 5.56 and then some, and the Razor is noticeably lessy gassy than the others which on an AR to me is a welcome tradeoff.
I’ve had my Razor 556 for over a year now, and in that time I’ve put ~3500 rounds through it. I have zero regrets and would choose it again.

For the price, the can is the same size, and sounds exactly the same as my surefire RC2. It has less gas blowback and it’s literally half the price. Almost 1/4 the price of the RC3. So i don’t think it can be beat, especially with Rugged’s warranty.
The only downside I’ve seen so far is the locking collar. It may need broken in, but I’ve noticed that there isn’t a definitive lock, like other cans. I have noticed that the locking collar will walk itself loose. Then when i pull the can off, I’ve noticed i can’t get the locking collar to move(off what it has walked lose) and when putting it on, the collar always feels like it’s not secure.
Overall it may just need broken in more as I’ve only got about 250 rounds through it but it’s a great can, especially for the price point. I may get another

Rugged has designed a classic suppressor for a reasonable price. They’ve already established themselves in the industry. Sound suppression on my 12.5″ CMMG Banshee is not quiet enough that I feel comfortable shooting lots of rounds without ear pro, but the reduced sound still makes for an elevated shooting experience. Based on the reviews I watched, I was more than willing to take the chance on an $750 can, since the DB rating wasn’t much less than a $1300 can, especially with the added security of a lifetime warranty on all their products.

I did a good amount of research into suppressors, and saw the comparisons of this one to much higher end ones. The construction is very solid, I think the mounting system is very simple. All of their muzzle breaks come with the ‘go’ ‘no go’ indicator so you know if its properly tightened. I ordered a 3 prong muzzle break because I wasn’t a fan of the one that comes with the suppressor. After shooting several hundred rounds through it, I have had no issues. I have this mounted on a 14.5″ Evolve Weapon Systems rifle. There’s minimal flash, even with the shorter barrel. Gas blowback is definitely noticeable but I think that’s just comes with shooting suppressed at an indoor range. Overall, this is an absolute steal for the money.

When I tried to mount the adaptor to the muzzle it locked up after the first turn. I didn’t want to force the adaptor as I was concerned that I would cross thread the muzzle. The adaptor was 1/2×28 and I contacted IWI’s customer service to confirm that the muzzle was also 1/2×28. When I contacted Rugged’s customer service they verified that the adaptor is 1/2×28 and told me to take it to a gunsmith. I think with the cost of the unit that Rugged could have contacted a local gunsmith and ask to have my issue evaluated. It would give them information to see if this was a single issue or that their fabrication process needs to be modified. As it turned out my shop (J&K Associates) had me bring in my rifle and suppressor, they tested the muzzle and the adaptor, found that they would work independently but, not together. After, some testing J&K felt that the adaptor could be mounted without crossing the threads but, was very tight seating the adaptor. I don’t know if this is a common issue with this unit, but I would think that Rugged would have wanted to know if this was an anomaly. Much thanks to J&K Associates for their support!

This was my first 556 suppressor and it does not disappoint. I’ve run maybe 200-300 rounds through it and the sound is great, quieter then I expected, and it did not change the accuracy as much as I thought it would. Very very happy with this so far and definitely definitely worth the price. Would definitely recommend using a shorter barrel rifle I had installed on a 16” barrel so overall the AR was about 22” long and it was a little heavy but not unbearable. Great product
