SilencerCo Sparrow 22 Suppressor
The can that kicked-off SilencerCo’s lineup still rules rimfire. A fully stainless build keeps weight to 6.5 oz and length to 5.08 in, with a slim 1.07 in diameter that lets factory sights clear. Its sealed, monolithic core slides out of the Multi-Part Containment sleeve for tool-free cleaning, carbon wipes away in seconds. Rated for .22 LR, .22 Mag, .17 HMR, .17 WSM, and 5.7×28, and full-auto on .22 LR, the Sparrow drops sub-sonic .22 LR to about 112 dB while shrugging off filthy bulk-pack ammo. I’m really happy with the Sparrow! It threads on great, it’s relatively quiet (although not as quiet sounding as my B.O.S.S. El Jefe). That’s not a scientific comparison, but my ears tell me the Jefe is every so slightly quieter, or has a less harsh tone to it.
This pops on and off of all the different host guns I have (pistols and rifles) with ease and has great balance between first round pop and subsequent shots. It’s virtually identical, where on my DA Mask, there’s a slightly louder pop on the first round.
I’ve got about 300rds through it already and it doesn’t seem to loosen up or have any problems. Just a solid model all the way around so far! You won’t be disappointed if you get one.

1,000rds in on a Ruger 22/45 and another 500 on an M4-22 Elite– no surprises. Noticeable first round pop (still very quiet), and it’s important make sure the two halves of the shield fit well over the monocore before reassembling it to get maximum performance.
Shockingly easy to clean, since the entire core can be held in the hand. Steel core can handle either sand blasting or ultrasonic.
The only issue I didn’t anticipate is the rear cap unscrewing a little after a few hundred rounds. The core itself will be screwed onto the barrel tightly, but the ring itself will have worked loose. Carbon buildup will probably solve this issue long term.
Overall, the Sparrow is exactly as advertised. Silencerco has been making this product long enough that the issues are either resolved or well known. I’ll likely pick up another one in the next year or so.

Great can! We have several 22 cans and this is by far the best (least) bang for your buck. Not as light as some others but extremely durable and quiet especially using subsonic ammo. This is my second Sparrow for a bolt gun and I love it. One on Christensen Ranger 22 and one on Bergara carbon 22 mag.

My first suppressor and I’m impressed! For 22s, which it’s designed for, it is unbelievably quiet. With subsonic rounds it’s almost silent. Only problem with subsonic rounds is that I’d need to replace the springs on all 3 weapons I tried (2 handguns AND my S&W MP15/22) as none of them would cycle which is NOT the fault of the suppressor obviously. Even with regular rounds however it is really really quiet. Definitely feel I could shoot without ear protection even with regular rounds. It’s also very easy to take apart to clean and I’d recommend cleaning it every time you shoot if more than 10-15 rounds. It gets dirty fast. I love this suppressor!

Highly recommend adding the Sparrow 22 to your silencer collection. Seems to be picky on which ammo it likes and what it is attached to. On the end of the G44 it was inconsistent but on a Ruger Precisson it was whisper quite round after round.
