The upgraded fast-attach Surefire SOCOM 556 SB2 suppressor is a tweaked version of the original SOCOM 556 SB unit. Like the first installment, the 556 SB2 also produces minimal, repeatable point-of-impact shift, granting the shooter consistency while in use. Moreover, this can is also specific for 5.56mm rifles with barrels shorter than 10” in length, or longer barrels that fire unstable ammunition (e.g., most jacketed fragile and “green” rounds).
Set in Fountain Valley, CA, Surefire created the SOCOM 556 SB2 suppressor with the goal of offering a durable, reliable, user-friendly silencer to firearm enthusiasts. With military-based roots, Surefire produces an impressive line of 5.56mm rifle suppressors for all of your market needs.
Further Intel:
The 556 SB2 offers a compact (6.4”) and lightweight (17 ounces) option in the 5.56mm rifle category. Built with the high-quality combination of stainless steel and Inconel 718, the durability of this can is not a concern. To that end, depending on usage, the suppressor should outlast the host barrel. Being a fast-attach unit merely adds to its ease and convenience of attachment/removal when in the field or at the range. Not to mention, the SOCOM 556 SB2’s new design provides premium sound reduction, virtual elimination of first-round muzzle flash, and minimal dust signature—allowing the shooter to remain covert and undetected when necessary.

Had this suppressor for about a year now. Fast attatch system works amazing. never been carbon locked on. Definitely not the quietest of suppressors but had excellent flash suppression and can fire a 10.5″ 556 all day with no ears comfortably(still not hearing level safe, not recommended). Very rock solid, and has a minimal point of impact change when used. Overall, awesome.

Didn’t make the gun more accurate but did make the shooter more comfortable to make more accurate shots.

The wait was 7 months from when the tax stamp showed cashed. I bought it in my personal name to see if it was faster then using my trust. My trust takes a year when I buy suppressors through it. The long wait is ridiculous but that’s the government for you they ruin everything.

Works perfectly!

Finally got to take it home after 326 days and it was worth it. Definitely toned the noise down although still not hearing safe. Took the edge off so to speak on my 11.3 SBR.

Great suppressor and is perfect for hard use with desired qualities such as flash suppression under night vision

Really like the SOCOM556-SB2. Highly recommended.

Typical surefire. Consistent, small zero shift. Good flash reduction and hearing safe outdoors
Jeff –
Good mounting system and seems rugged. About as quiet as a 5.56 can get.
Jaime M –
Great product. As always, surefire maintains a good track record. Functions flawlessly and is an absolute pleasure to shoot with.

It’s a surefire can so it’s indestructible. Good flash suppression, good tone, and reliable. This is not the quietest or lightest can out there by any means but when unfortunately your government oppresses your right to own such an item, it is my opinion that the “buy once cry once” theory is paramount. If you’re looking for a jack of all trades can that will last your lifetime here it is. I have not used this can on a pew pew with less than a 10.5” barrel as it was marketed as from Surefire. It does well on longer pews, of course yes there is added gas back at the action but I will say that I haven’t been gassed out nearly as bad as other cans I’ve experienced.

What can I say? It’s awesome! Mounting and lockup with the quick detach works great. POI isn’t noticeable between unsuppressed and suppressed at 100Y with Lake City M855 and MK262 MOD1 IMI. It’s built like a tank. CONS: It’s built like a tank, and possibly heavier than you may want. Price. Highly recommended.

Wonderful product, great construction. Works great with my 11.5″, and is an absolute Chad on my 20″.

Glad to have one.

AAAAA+++++

First introduction to cans, and this one doesnt disappoint. Quality is obvious just holding it in your hand. Indexes perfectly. Locks tightly and the suppression is great on my 14.5 daniel.

Product works absolutely amazing. Quality of material and the price was exceeded expectations. Money well spent and with a quick turn around. Little felt recoil and so quiet, i dint need ear protection.

Great can, highly recommended. Only issue for me is it’s price. I was able to get it on a major sale, so I am happy with what I paid, but I also know it is too expensive for some.

Surefire never disappoints. Great on a 7.5in 5.56!
