I’ve had the past week to take this suppressor to the range and my goodness is it the perfect balance of low back pressure and sound reduction! The build quality is noticeable immediately despite it being a heavier suppressor and a larger diameter. Even though it’s a heavier suppressor and larger than most 5.56 cans; this suppressor benefits from that as more gas becomes trapped and slowed down inside.
One recommendation for anyone planning to purchase a suppressor cover or heat shield is that this suppressor has ports on the furthest part of the suppressor where gas escapes. You’ll want to make sure you don’t order a cover or shield that covers these ports (keep it shorter by about 0.75 inches; roughly 6.25 inches instead of 7 inches).

After sending around 300 rounds through the Daniel Defense SoundGuard SG-556 suppressor I am pleased with the noise reduction. I use a Magpul bipod so the weight of the Can helps balance the rifle. I shoot a Daniel Defense DDM4 V7 Pro rifle and that combined with the SG-556 makes range shooting sweet and fun! Haven’t had a chance to go to our /L Ranch in Osage County – looking forwards to that experience.
