The updated Griffin Paladin 5 HD signifies the transition to singular use of stainless steel for the build material while also employing the newest ECO-FLOW Baffle Technology and maintaining the same weight. Now solely constructed of 17-4 stainless steel, we’re pleased to say that this high-performance silencer is durable, reliable, and can withstand the test of time for the avid shooter. Boasting a Ratchet-lok front endcap and keyed together baffles, the Paladin 5 allows for a quick and efficient disassembly for ease of cleaning and service.
That’s right, this is a user-serviceable silencer, meaning you can take this bad boy (or girl… no assumptions here) apart for cleaning. The Paladin 5 runs the same HEDP baffles from the tried-and-true Recce 5 but with the added bonus of being able to remove them from the tube by way of the patented Ratchet-Lok front cap. An included armorers wrench – or any old AR-15 wrench – will pop the front cap off and allow access to the Paladin 5. This unique feature means that the Paladin is suited for use on calibers that lend themselves to lead/copper build up like .22LR. In fact, the Paladin is rated all the way up to 22-250!
The Wisconsin based company has gained notoriety for their comprehensive designs and top-tier testing to create silencers in each classification. This suppressor works good on .223….I bought it because I was told it would work effectively on any .22 caliber or smaller caliber…does not even come close to suppressing a .22 mag….silencer shop guys act like they dont believe you and give the illusion that they care…just kind of brush it off and help the next in line

This is a great can. I stocked up on 7n6 when it was still cheap and have been looking for a user serviceable suppressor to put on my ‘74s. This is the only one I could find but it works great and is easy to clean. I still need to use ear pro when I shoot it on AKs but it does a hell of a job at suppressing even my 74u. If you want a user serviceable .22 mag can, this is it.

This is my first supressor so I have nothing to compare it to. That is why I am only rating it four stars. Upon receipt everything was nicely packaged in its box. The supressor and “minimalist” mount” have a very nice finish and display good manufacturing quality, no burs or sharp corners. All threads cleanly cut and smooth. The shim kit had enough shims of different thickness to get the muzzle break (“minimalist mount”) timed correctly to the barrel after a couple of combination changes.
At the range, the supressor was easy to mount to the rifle. As I said, this is my first one so when fired, the only yard stick I have is the two other individuals present commented that it was quieter that other AR 15 supressors they have heard. I fired it without hearing protection and it was very tolerable.
I have not had the opportunity to disassemble it for cleaning yet so I cannot comment on the ease or difficulty of it. The tool to push out the baffles easily mounts to the unit but as I said, I have not disassembled it yet. Overall, it seems to be a good quality product.

The taper mount interface between the muzzle device and suppressor ensures worry-free alignment. The user serviceability of this particular can is its most appealing attribute for me.

I just recieved my Paladin 5 from the ATF wait period. So far I have had time to take it out one time and put about 200 rounds through it. Supression is adequite. It takes my short barrel 5.56mm (9.2 inch) from a blast you can feel in your chest to a pop that is reasonably comfortable with no hearing protection. After range cleaning was a snap. Using the supplied cap tool was a bit of a trick. I wasn’t expecting the snap ring holding the cap on. After understanding that, it came apart easily, cleaned easilly and assembled easy.

The Paladin 5 HD is a well built suppressor. I like how it can come apart for cleaning, especially when shooting 22LR. For the money it’s a good solid can. It suppresses well on a 16″ barrel AR. It’s a bit louder on a 10.5″ barrel, but still no need for hearing protection. Overall, pretty happy with the purchase, Griffin makes quality gear. Total wait time for stamp was 170 days.
