Amazingly quiet, especially compared to suppressors I have from other manufacturers. Added it to my old HK USP Tactical 45, just like on the Rugged Obsidian website, looks awesome and nicely balanced. Loaded with a Nosler 185 JHP atop 5.7 grains of W231, velocity is about 850-900fps and recoil is minimal.

Got this for my FNX 45Tactical. It’s certainly rugged. Beautiful high quality suppressor, but quite heavy. Still love it, but I think I enjoy the light weight of my deadair mojave9 more. Unless you’re going full auto on an mp5, I’d look for something made of titanium. Great peice, but chunky.

The very first time I used the silencer the end cap got a strike and blew a half hole only in the end cap. There wasn’t A BAFFLE STRIKE only the end cap got damaged!!! I don’t know how this happened but I’m upset that I have to buy another end cap!!!
The ammunition was CCI blazer 9mm 115 grain fmj.
The silencer is NOT DAMAGED ONLY THE END CAP! I guess I got a defective end cap???

This is my second Rugged Obsidian suppressor. I am more than satisfied with the quality and performance of both of these Rugged Obsidian suppressors. All my suppressors are user serviceable, as I want the ability to break them down for a thorough cleaning (as opposed to a fully welded suppressor). I don’t know if I can justify buying yet another suppressor ;o), but if I do, there’s a good chance it will be a Rugged suppressor.

I have 3 Rugged suppressors, so when I finally decided to purchase a pistol can I went right back to Rugged. I am a little rough on gear so I knew I couldn’t go wrong with the Obsidian. After I ran 100 rounds through a couple of pistol I put it to the test and put it on a 9mm carbine and really warmed it up and it performed just like I knew it would. Silencer Shop makes buying a suppressor so easy that I sometimes get ahead of myself.

Love it so far, looks great on my fnx tactical. Only annoying thing about the entire process was that between silencer shop and my local dealer they took around 5 days to get my form 4 ready to certify, atf only took 43 hour……..seems like silencer shop needs to fix that.

Hi guys! Jason at Granny gun shop had it in stock, sent ransom papers on monday. Picked it up on friday! Quality looks good- fit n finish screwed right on m&p 45-did have to sync the baffles on the outer module to the mains, not a problem. Bout 400 rounds so far 100% function pmc, lawman, 200 gr xtp handloads no noticeable blowback. No ears, no problem pretty damn quiet. It’s a hoot ta shoot! My first center fire pistol can so nothin to compare it to thats why 4 stead of 5 star

First of all, the buying process is always smooth and effortless with Silencer Shop. Second, the submitted and approved turnaround was EXACTLY 26 hours. Mind-blowing. The suppressor is as silent as I hoped it would be. It’s fun to shoot and didn’t disappoint. Only one complaint which is expected. Expect a ton of blow back and carbon fouling everywhere on the gun, magazine, red dot, your face, and your hands. Just be ready to clean the gun thoroughly after each use.

This suppressed really nicely. I use it on a mil-spec 1911 with a Jarvis custom barrel and I really enjoyed it. I was able to run it without adjusting anything, just used the stock 16.5lb Springfield use for their recoil springs. One thing to be conscious of is something that seems to always happen with handgun suppressors, and that’ll be to be sure to tighten it back down constantly. The piston on mine anyways will come loose slightly after only 6-7 shots, enough to be able to hand tighten the slack with your hands. The end caps are easily replaceable in the event of a baffle strike, however.

Quality Craftsmanship, easy to disassemble and clean. The suppressor is one of the quietest I’ve heard at the range although I was shooting subsonic RDS of 45 ACP. The modular design is great giving the option to run it long or shorter and multiple calibers along with pistols or fixed barrels with one adapter sleeve.

I’m pleasantly surprised at how easy this system is to clean and how quickly it cools down. 4 inch groupings at 15y with the stock trigger, and 3 inch groupings with my upgraded trigger at 15y. I didn’t need a wrench to tighten on my weapon, just Gorilla strength and it came off after the season with no tools. Highly recommend! (45apc version)

This Rugged obsidian is now my 3rd can this summer. Not a cheap add on, also a little bummed that TV lied to us . lol, there’s no magic happening that makes the sound disappear, but from a firing line perspective, shooting supersonic 9mm and supersonic 300blk is quite pleasant. It sounds like a 22lr being shot out in front of you. It’s pretty cool to mag dump my guns and not make my ears ring! The can is very well made, super easy to maintain, and will likely last a lifetime with minimal maintenance, and of course, no end strikes!
