I am impressed with the way the rad 9 works on a handgun. In the short mode on a glock 19 it is still loud, but very comfortable at the ear, which is all that matters. Its not as quiet as my obsidian 9 on my b&t, but the reduced blowback is a worthy trade off. Its also nice they used the same mounts and pistons as the rugged and silencerco. Overall, the rad 9 Is a good choice for a modular pistol can.

I’ve only fired about 150 rounds through it so far, so I can’t comment on reliability or durability. But I’m impressed with its performance so far. The flow-through design works extremely well. Getting gas in the face isn’t much of a problem with pistols. But standard cans blow lots of carbon onto your red dot – enough to be noticeable after less than 50 rounds. The Rad 9 barely left anything after 150. It was only noticeable after I wiped part of the lens and could see a faint layer of carbon. Wish I’d bought this first.

The RAD 9 and RAD 45, are both incredible!! We joke that they are “movie quiet.” The process through Silencer Shop and The HUB in Tucson, was VERY easy! My RAD 45 was approved within days, but the RAD 9 took about 2 months…still way better than normal ATF approval times.

The silencer did not work well with the Noveske I purchased. Unclear which is defective, but the gun did not work well ever when I was not using the silencer,

For one it’s still loud with subsonic ammo.
It vibrates after every shot with a harmonic ring.
No matter what gun I screw this thing to (4 so far) it makes it extremely dangerously inaccurate.
I go from 1 inch groups without it to 3 ft unpredictable groups . I feel like this was a big waste of money

A lot less gassy compared to a Mojave 9, better sound and much easier to clean! Too bad those are pretty hard to come by, waiting for Huxwrx/OSS to make a newer and improved version of those to fuel my addiction!

Please note that HUXWRX has discontinued the Rad 9 and replaced it with the FLOW 9k Ti. The Rad 9 is as quiet or quieter than the Obsidian 9, but weighs less and has almost no gas to the face. The CA$H 9K is just the Rad 9 in the short configuration. The flow design is a hybrid flow-baffle design – where it has these dual clipped omega baffles with flow vanes on the outer perimeter of each baffle. Looking at the current Flow Range 36, I could see how they evolved this hybrid baffle design used on the Rad 9 and tweaked it to handle rifle rounds up to 338 Lapua. The Rad 9 baffles don’t key to one another, so during re-assembly I use a wooden popsicle stick to align the baffles. Using it on a 9mm PCC is a joy as there’s no gas to the face or excess gunk building in the action.
