The YHM Fat Cat is a short, stout, high-performance 5.56 suppressor with attitude. At just 4.5 inches in length with the sRx adapter installed, it’s a full inch shorter than the YHM Turbo K. That means less added length and more maneuverability without giving up sound performance.
Its oversized 1.94-inch diameter boosts internal volume, helping to produce a deeper, smoother tone than most cans in its size class. With a stainless steel body and Inconel blast baffle, the Fat Cat is fully auto-rated and built to handle high heat and volume. Backpressure is reduced with YHM’s updated baffle geometry, keeping your gas system happier under pressure.
This version ships with the Cat End Cap and includes a Mini sRx mount, plus two suppressor tools for setup and teardown.

I received this about 6 weeks ago and mounted it on a mostly stock DD Mk18 with the included SRX brake, ensuring that the endcap was timed appropriately with a set of YHM shims. It was replacing a AAC SDN-6 in that application and the compact length and lightweight design significantly improves the handling of the rifle. Suppression-wise I do not have a meter or anything objective to measure with, but it was just as pleasant to shoot as the SDN-6 and the Phantom ULT on the same or similar hosts, and it was notably less gassy that some of my older 5.56 cans l. I ended up ordering a second one for use with my existing Phantom mounts so I can dedicate this one to the Mk18.
Obviously the cat endcap is better than the standard.

YHM will always be the best bang for the buck. The Fat Cat is just as quiet, if not more, than my Turbo can, and adds no additional weight with two less inches in length. Paired with Adam’s Arms gas piston (venting of gases to atmospheric pressure), this suppressor is not just extremely quiet, but it also almost eliminates the supersonic crack. Extremely impressive to say the least. Only one slight downfall is that this suppressor limits you to what SRx muzzle devices can be used. The guys at the Hub and Silencer Shop made the transfer easy.
